As is vividly depicted in the cartoon, a group of fresh graduates are marching along a road that eventually leads

to a crossroads. At this fork, the single path splits into four separate routes, each clearly labelled as job-hunting,

postgraduate study, going abroad and starting a business.

Simple as the picture is, it conveys a thought-provoking message about the diverse choices confronting young

people upon graduation. The crossroads symbolizes a critical turning point in life, at which every graduate

has to decide which direction to take. In fact, none of the four routes is absolutely right or wrong; what truly

matters is not which road looks fashionable but whether the choice fits one's own interest, ability and long-

term goal.

Given this, I firmly hold that graduates should make their decisions rationally rather than blindly following

others. On the one hand, we ought to assess our strengths and passions honestly before setting out. On the other

hand, once a path is chosen, we should stick to it with determination and perseverance. Only in this way can

we turn a seemingly puzzling crossroads into a promising starting point.
